A place to discuss the films about the swashbuckling archaeologist, whether that's the existing ones... or the fact that believe it or not, there's another one slated for a 2020 release, when Harrison Ford will be around 77 and Spielberg not much younger than that. And yes, it's supposed to be the pair of them working on it.

Have any of you heard or read the unique fan theory that Indiana Jones is Han Solo?

The theory, in a nut shell is that Han Solo was frozen in carbonite for a long time (ROTJ. Otwithstanding) and eventually gets thawed out in the distant future of the 1900s and becomes Indiana Jones, which is why they are very similar men with very similar antics and way about them.

Also not sure if any of you noticed, but in The Last Jedi, when Fnn goes to the casino, the code breaker they are looking for is dressed like Indiana Jones was in the China Scene from Temp,e of Doom. The white sport coat with a red flower on his lapel.

I had heard the former - I had not noticed the latter.

Isn't he like 80 now?

As fan theories go, that's not one that particularly lights my imagination on fire to be honest....

News flying around right now that we are set for another Indy movie, and that this time GL - who I think historically has come up with the basic story idea for the films - isn't going to be involved. To be fair, as awful as Crystal Skull turned out to be, I quite liked the idea of setting it in the '50s and having the Soviets become the main villains. That said, I don't know if they're going prequel, full reboot or another sequel or not.

Still not sure what they are going to do with this but sounds like it's being pushed back a year to 2021, and Kasdan (the son of the guy who wrote Raiders and who combined with his dad to write Solo) was brought in to finish/rewrite the script.

I just hope that this goes away. KOTCS was terrible, and now that Ford is 76, he should be no where near any sort of action movie, unless he is in the rold of mentor and no action is involved. I do not want to see him punching anyone, b/c it will not be believable. Let alone any story that could be concocted.

De-age him. Bring him back to his 1980s look and give us another old school adventure.

Essentiall have a stunt double do all the work and CGI his face. No thanks. After TKOTCS, I do not trust that Spielberg can come up with another Raiders, TOD or Last Crusade quality adventure.

Last I heard filming was to start next year and there's likely to be a trailer ready for the San Diego Comicon 2020 ahead of a 2021 release, so it doesn't sound like you're going to get your wish about them kicking it into the long grass.
