LOP Columns Hall of Fame Discussion Thread

The Hall of Fame is the greatest resource we have here for exploring and understanding the history of columns on Lords of Pain. Pioneers, innovators, published authors, all are enshrined here in the Hall.

This thread is for discussing the Hall of Fame. Who's there, their work, what they meant to your own LOP and/or wrestling fandom experience, pretty much anything you want to talk about.

This will also serve as the announcement thread whenever new inductees are made, which typically occurs every few years.

Just checking whether the upheaval has had any impact on the summer induction?

Not at the moment. I reserve the right to change that, of course. But we should be good to go, with I'm thinking about 4 new inductees going in around SummerSlam time.

There may or may not be private HOF Committee discussion beginning before long to evaluate potential candidates.

Mine goes back further, but is somewhat interrupted. That being said, I might be able to offer some insight on a few of the older writers that might have been overlooked.

I'm afraid that with all the stuff going on in my life and the in general busy-ness of everyone involved, we'll probably not be doing this until around the first of the year. I'll start tapping people to write things up and all that over the course of the next couple of months so that we've got everything in order for the official induction ahead of time. Last time we did this I had to hound folks for inductions for months, anyhow. Always have, actually. I think nonymo once almost had a stroke trying to get it all organized a decade or so ago.

My guess is that it isn't going to happen until Spring at the earliest.

We’re expecting some one or two additions around ‘Mania time so consider this your teaser....

I would suggest Big Brother as someone to be considered for the Hall of Fame. His columns were terrible at first, but in time he improved dramatically. For about a year he was one of the most popular columnists in the CF. At the time of his call up to the main page a KOTC tourney was going on and he made it to the final four. His main page columns drew a lot of hits by main page standards at the time.

Romans as well. He won 2 COTMS, in back to back months. He was a great writer who made the main page.

Seconded for Romans 3:23. Not only did he write great stuff in the CF and main page. He also gave great feedback on every column no matter how small and one constantly one of the nicest most helpful posters in the CF.
