Wonder if it's just ring rust for PAC? I know he and Flamita could tear the house down, so maybe they'll get another chance in the future. Haven't checked out the show yet but love the thoughts here. DG does a great job with multi-man matches, far above the standard for most promotions in Japan, so not surprised the Triangle match impressed! I bet Ben-K/Yoshino was awesome indeed, I stand by that Ben-K is gonna be a big part of the future success of the company.

So they're running a show today with Neville (sorry, PAC) in a high profile spot?

That's my understanding, looks like he may be a prominent guy for a while in DG rather than moving on, which I think is a cool thing.

    Spoilers

Looks like PAC is the champ now. How have people found his work since he joined? I haven’t seen any of it, have honestly never watched any Dragon Gate but loved him in 205. Is it worth checking out?

I've catching up on some Dragon Gate for the next edition of Global Revolution, so I'll know soon enough! I've heard great things about the title match with Yoshino, but I'm not sure it's available online yet. Really hoping to dig it up!

I saw the match between PAC and Yoshino and it was pretty solid. Nothing mind-blowing to me, but it's worth a watch.

I think it's pretty cool that PAC went back to Dragon Gate and has gotten this opportunity to stick around. I thought he would be there for a short time but it seems he'll be around for a while, which the company really needed. This year felt like they were a bit stagnant, so this is definitely a shot in the arm for them. There's a lot of potential with PAC around if they keep building guys to step up like they were doing with Yoshino.

I thought the PAC/Yoshino match was great! Not my favorite DG match this year but very good. Jeff made a point on TGR that PAC was really ready for Yoshino and let him tire himself out before putting the nail in the coffin, which I really like as a read in that match.

I've seen PAC listed as one of the AEW guys, does that mean his return to DG was a brief one, or will there be the opportunity to still work somewhere like this?

I haven't heard anything about AEW not being open to working with other promotions. In fact, with New Japan maintaining ROH as their American partner (for now at least), an AEW/DG alliance could be quite mutually beneficial!

I haven't heard much from them (other than a headline about Pac threatening to leave) in the last couple of months, is this just a quiet time in their calendar or are they having a bit of a lull?

Haha, I think LOP was the only site that reported that bit about PAC leading with any implication that it was serious.

Sad fact is Dragon Gate rarely gets discussed in the US no matter what they do, but they do have their big Dead or Alive show coming up! The main event is a steel cage match featuring a representative of each of the five stables in the company. As always with DOA the rules are a bit complicated, but basically whoever ends up the ultimate loser will be forced to kick someone out of their stable. The DOA cage match is always a pretty mental affair and this should be no different!

Go on, I'm game. What are these complicated stipulations?

If I recall correctly, this year it's a 5 way cage match. Each of the major stables in the promotion gets one entry in the match. There are four flags hung on top of the corners of the cage. Whoever doesn't get a flag loses! So a bit like a ladder match combined with a cage match, with the caveat that all the stables typically surround the ring and attempt to interfere by poking through the holes in the cage, or even throwing baseballs or shooting water guns at those who are climbing. It typically is quite mental and it's entirely possible I've left out some additional stipulations!

Sounds insane but (with a few modifications) like something I would have been really into back in the day. Kinda like a cross between War Games and capture the flag!

They always put a lot of thought into it and it's pretty fun. I remembered another stipulation, those who do get the flag ALSO have an option to kick someone out of their stable, but they aren't required to do it. So if someone doesn't trust their stable representative, it's possible they might try to sabotage them. Lots of layers!
