Seems like 3 is one of the Tobey Maguire SpiderMan movies, but I’m not sure which. So... I’ll go with the first one.
-
Feeling Minnesota
3 is not any of the 6 Spider-man movies, and it is NOT a comic book movie either for that matter.
-
Hmmm.... that’s definitely the New York skyline, though...

Is 3 perhaps Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol?
-
Feeling Minnesota
Nope....
Hints for the final three:
3. This movie is the reboot of a classic franchise that has spawned 39 movies since the 1950s.
6. 1980s classic movie with a culminating boat race
7. A road trip movie filled with tons of cameos set in the late 90s.
-
Agh. 3’s gotta be Godzilla then.

no, not Eurotrip. The movie is set in the late 90s, and the trip has a very specific purpose.

7. Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle?

I don't recognise the poster but the only film I know of right now that ended with a boat race was Summer Rental?

Not Harold and Kumar as it is NOT set in the late 90s, and Summer Rental is a great guess. Right time period, but wrong movie. There was another movie with 2 very well known stars that were very young, with a culminating boat race.
So another round of hints:
6. The Big Guy from #3 has a semi cameo in the movie, and there are animated voice overs.
7. The road trip is to help a sick friend.

No, and sorry for the lack of hints for #1. The hints so far...

Hints, round three:
1. One of the main characters is Irish, but portrayed as a black man.
6. 1980s movie where the main character's basketball nickname is ironic.
7. This movie poster when seen in full has an all time iconic mask taking up most of the poster.

Alrighty, here we go. This one has no theme aside from the fact that I'm quite fond of all of them. I tried to make it a mix of stuff that will (probably) be pretty obvious and stuff that may require a bit more thought. None of the films pictured are terribly vague, though, as I feel that kinda takes the fun out of it to some degree.
1) Spider-Man: Homecoming (Rob S.)
2) I Love You Phillip Morris (meandi)
3) IT (Heisenberg)
4) The Devil's Rejects (nobody)
5) Forrest Gump (Powder)
6) Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (Powder)
7) The Program (Powder)
8) Demolition Man (Powder)
9) John Wick (meandi)
-
#2 is I love you Phillip Morris
-

5 is Forrest Gump
6 is Homeward Bound, a great movie that is completely forgotten
8 is Demolition Man...great movie BTW

All correct so far.
Homeward Bound really is a great movie. Very charming. And Demolition Man is a really good time. I don't think people rate that movie enough.
And for the record, I Love You Phillip Morris is a fantastic movie, as well.

Steve, you labeled who got the correct answers incorrectly.

I was just about to say that. I’m only good for #2.

Sorry about the labeling issue.
9 is not Constantine... but close.
3 is IT.
-
-
1 is Spider Man Homecoming

Both correct. I guess my teeny little hint for #9 maybe gave it away.

I suppose it's time for some clues for the remaining two.
#4 is a sequel and seemed to be the final installment... until a follow-up was announced a few months back.
#7 is a quality early 90s flick about a very specific aspect of college life. Doesn't get much hype among it's genre peers, but I think it should.

7 is the Program, and the movie was well ahead of its time. If the Program came out 10 years later it would be the standard of College football corruption. Same for Blue Chips.
