Yeah I just read that. He's been in a few episodes but always sitting down so I was wondering what was up. Honestly so far I'm not digging this season of The Flash. Nora is insufferable and the villain, Cicada still hasn't really kicked in yet as to what his game is. It's meandering a bit, hoping it picks up soon. I also hate the new costume.

On the flip side, Arrow has turned around and started a really good season so far. It's definitely grittier and that's with Oliver still being in prison. Should only be a matter of time before he's out, so we'll see how they do that.

To be fair, Joe did stand this week, but he was leaning against a door frame.

And with the fact that we have to go 26 episodes, they are doing the slow burn with Nora. Her character finally got some development this week. And we also learned more with Cidada. it will get better, but it is moving slowly.

And you are completely correct with Arrow.

To be fair, the past couple of seasons of The Flash have been doing the slow burn. It took forever and a day to find out who Savitar was and what his motives were, and the same with the big bad from last season. (I forget his name... The Thinker, maybe?) Itís gotten to the point with that show that I catch the first two episodes and then just zone out until the mid-season break. Then I get all caught up and pick it back up week to week.

Arrow, though... Iím plopped in my couch by 6:55 every week.

6:55, where are you Central (City) time? it's 8:00 here on the CORRECT East Coast time. lol

And Arrow is compelling TV. Loving the new direction.

And I'll say it again, if any 26 episode TV show is having a continuous story line (not sitcoms, not shows where each episode could stand alone i.e. Medical dramas) then they need to break the season into 2 halves of 13 episodes each with a culmination happening after episode 13. This keeps the stories fresh and much more compact without all the filler. As you said, the slow burn with Nora could have been skipped or sped up.

Switching gears a little, there's an extended trailer for Aquaman now out, it's been out a few weeks. If you don't like spoilery trailers though it's one to avoid as it reveals a wealth of material from the film. I personally don't mind that sort of thing so have checked it out, and I have to say I'm cautiously excited for it. It looks like it might be a breath of fresh air and something a little lighter in a year of superhero movies that's been pretty heavy going.

Well, Antman aside, but that barely even registered with me.

This week's episode of Titans finally gave us some good screen time for Gar, and in some ways served as a lead-in for the upcoming Doom Patrol series on the DC App. They were actually pretty true to Beast Boy's origin as well. The Doom Patrol characters look pretty damn good as well. Solid episode for a show that's still trying to find it's footing.

An FYI. Most of the cast of Doom Patrol is changing for the upcoming show. Brendan Frazier will be voicing and being the face during flashbacks for Robotman. And Matt Bloomer will be Negative Man, and Timothy Dalton will be the Chief. Elastigirl is staying the same though. AND Cyborg will be in Doom Patrol.

Great episode, but the trailer for ep 5 looks even better.

This is how the DCEU, could have been.

Titans is the Best live action show or movie DC has ever done. It tweaked the characters slightly to work in the real world, yet keeps them true to the comics including powers. The show is not trying to appeal to all ages, it is clearly designed for the TV14 to TVMA audience and it has the feel of the darker Batman comics.

Also with that said, I just saw that JT showed up. I am hoping that at some point, maybe in the last episode, or second to last that we get a Batman sighting or at least a conversation/fight with Dick and Bruce.

Did they not drop the entire season at once like Netflix does?

Thatís the only thing I hate about Arrow. Netflix has spoiled me so much by being able to tear through a season in a week and then move onto another show without having to remember when different shows come on and having to keep up with multiple stories all the time. Do they at least archive the previous weekís show so you can let several build up and then watch it on demand?

No idea. I do not subscribe to DCU channel, my friend gets the episodes and we share a folder on Google Drive, and watch that way.

Also, Doom Patrol, which will be a spin off from Titans (episode 4), has the possibility of being awesome as well.

    Sorry for the double post,

    And a few SPOILERS!!!

Episode 6 of Titans was amazing. Great insight to Greyson's Robin, and Jason Todd's psyche. The show gets better and better. Also I read a report that Batman will show up at some point in the show, and it looks like we may be moving towards a Nightwing costume.

Thought this week's Titans was one of the weaker episodes to date. There was the ever-tired "team gets captured and tortured" bit that seems to play out in every show. The problem though, is that except for Robin, nobody really learned anything from their experience. It felt like an hour wasted. Also, is Gar only going to be a tiger? Is the budget not there for other CGI animals? That needs to change soon, because he can literally be anything.

The show is good, but as I said it's still trying to find it's legs. Here's to it getting there.

The Arrowverse crossover is 2/3 completed this year, and itís been pretty damn good. Lots of nifty little Easter eggs and call backs to previous crossovers. Might be my fav since they started the crossovers.

I only saw part 1 so far and I was somewhat disappointed. The big four, Flash, Arrow, Supergirl and Superman all disposed of a pretty big baddie of the DC universe with relative ease. The villain in part 1 was reduced to a minor threat, he could have been the villain of the entire crossover. I hope parts 2 and 3 are better.

I won't give spoilers on who it was, but he has given the Justice League major problems in the past, and the four beat him really quickly. He could have been the big villain for an entire season as well. But he was reduced to a means to an end.

CRISIS is happening next year. It will probably be the ongoing story throughout all the shows, but will they all be connected? Could Black Lightning be brought into the fold as they can obviously just put him on one of the other Earth's in the Multiverse. What about Titans? What about Krypton? There's a chance this becomes a HUGE crossover for DC. But what happens after? Flash disappeared, Supergirl died. Will these things happen on the shows? And what deal did Oliver make with the Monitor? His life for theirs? Perhaps.

Next year is going to be fun as hell

Crisis, as in Crisis on Infinite Earths? Not Identity Crisis, Not Infinite Crisis, Not Final Crisis, but COIE? That will be hard to do, as you said, Barry Allen was gone for 20 years, and Supergirl was dead for 20 years as well.

If I were the CW, I would adapt the Identity Crisis story, as it focuses on the murder of Ralph Dibny's wife Sue by Jean Loring, the ex-wife of Ray Palmer. This can happen as Jean Loring was already in Arrow as a defense attorney. They could recast her, and they can use the Legends of Tomorrow to have Jean and Ray get married and divorced through time travel.

Crisis is too big, and caused way to many deaths to do a 3-5 episode crossover. Unless the CW is cancelling shows.

Yup, Crisis on Infinite Earths. And it's not just the yearly crossover. This is the entirety of next season from what I'm gathering. It just said Fall 2019, which means the entire Arrowverse becomes immersed in a season long story of epic proportions.

If the CW does do a complete show-wide crossover for the entire season where characters show up in multiple episodes throughout the season. They also need to have the big three shows all maintain a complete continuity, where each show references the other on a daily/weekly basis. BUT each show can tell it's part of the story.

If that is in fact the plan, I'm in. Sounds great, but they already took Flash being lost into the speed force at the end of season 3, which is why and how the new metas were made for the Thinker. So what will they do? Barry sacrificed himself in COIE and Supergirl was killed.

BUT the good that come out of this, is that the Crisis Storyline could merge all of the universes, and Supergirl is now part of the same Earth. Also, this could be a way to being back/re-introduce the original Harrison Wells and we can stop having alternate versions of him.

What will they do with Legends and Black Lightning? And furthermore Titans and Doom Patrol (which is set to come out soon)?

I'm really hoping DC is very forward thinking and brings them all in, but I think Legends will be involved, probably Black Lightning since they're talking Multiverse here, but I think Titans and DP will stay separate.

By the time the next seasons come out. The Fox show Gotham will be over, and thus the Arrowverse could them formally introduce Batman. They have already referenced him in numerous shows. Supergirl mentioned him when talking about Superman, Bruce Wayne was directly referenced by Oliver, and (I haven't watched it yet) Batwoman (Kate Kane - Bruce's cousin) and Gotham City are in Elseworlds.

So doing Crisis On Infinite Earths is a perfect time to have Batman be part of the universe, like how Superman is. He is clearly a secondary character, and shows up randomly and that is exactly how they should use Batman, unless they create a new Arrowverse show with Batman. But then you need to bring back Ra's Al Ghoul, which is easy to to with a Crisis.

I didnít even consider the crossover for next season to be the entire season for all the shows. That would be insane.

As far as your questions about Flash and Super Girl, Powder... the final episode of Else Worlds kind of already points to how theyíre planning on re-writing that part of the story, I do believe.

I just watched the last 2 episodes of Elseworlds, and it seems like it was just a set up for Crisis on Infinite Earths for next fall. I love that they are having Psycho Pirate maintain his role from the book.

I hope it is a season long crossover, but again how do they handle Flash's disappearance and Supergirl's death? They will have to address that. I missed the hint, but unless they are talking about them being heroes, and heroes sacrifice themselves.

Thatís what I was getting at. I knew Powder was a little behind, and didnít want to spoil anything. Pretty sure Ollie is going to sacrifice himself, and then Stephen Amell is done with the show. Apparently there was an interview a while back where he said he was coming to an end on the show, but Oliver has to leave a true legacy first or something like that.

I knew Oli made a deal, but I thought the one who was sacrificed so that Barry and Kara could live was Dr. John Deegan. But I get your point. I know that the Arrowverse is not the comics, but clearly inspired by them, I just cannot see how COIE can not have Flash and Supergirl live.

Maybe the disappearance of Flash that Nora keeps talking about is that, when Barry goes into the Speed Force during the Crisis.

Maybe we can get a Spin off show. Maybe Wally West comes back and takes over the Flash Mantle as he did in the comics?

All I hope for, is as I said earlier, that the Crisis is a show-wide, Arrowverse-wide season long event. Crisis is way too big a story to be told in a handful of episodes with commercials.

A buddy and I were talking about this at work earlier. Iíd like to see the shows do their separate thing for the first 8-9 episodes like normal, and then when the traditional crossover episodes happen, have that be the first break in the season (like they normally do). When the shows start up again in January, then go full crossover for all the shows for the rest of the season.

That could work, but I would like to see all 6 shows, 4 if they include LOT, BL, and Batwoman, all end this season with an event leading into Crisis. Then all 4 shows start off with their own stuff going on, for 3-4 episodes, then all hell breaks loose with constant overlap. I think it would be a truly ground breaking TV event, if one network had 6 shows tell one long story for an entire season where each set of defined characters crossedover constantly. You could really tell the entire story of Crisis On Infinite earth with 6 hours of TV per week dedicated to it.

6 hours/week X 23 episodes/season= 138 hours total. Coming from the guy that said 10 hours of Iron Fist season 2 was too much makes me laugh a little.

All kidding aside, I would focus on the 4 main shows for the most part, with maybe introducing LoT and BL completely into the fold towards the latter half of the season. (Maybe after the second break they do before the final run to the season finale? Like, keep them being affected by stuff in their own shows, but donít fully immerse them until close to the end.)

Different story. This one is already a complete entity and not trying to create...

  37. #117
Maybe the crossover lasts a couple of weeks but I doubt they go more than a month. It'd be awesome if it did but I just base that on logistics. From what I hear just to get 3-4 shows on the same page for one week is very tough on the creators and writers, to do that for a full or half season seems unlikely.

I definitely see the Legends playing a role but still unsure about BL, which seems to want to be on its own doing it's own thing. We'll see.

Is it bad that most people are more excited for a television crossover event than the actual movies DC is putting out?

That is because they are more fan friendly and on TV every week. Aquaman so I have heard is getting good to at worst decent reveiws and is supposed to be visually beautiful. I already have my tickets for next Saturday. What is the most impressive thing about Aquaman is that the DCEU has taken the lamest superhero of all time in Aquaman and made him cool. Jason Mamoa's take on Aquaman from Justice League to Aquaman is really good.

Also, the DCEU made a choice to be the anti-Marvel. They chose to be more serious and darker, which is fine, but then when Man of Steel was not well received and BvS was also not well received, even though it is not that bad, and the director's cut is much, much better. Suicide Squad and then Justice League was hit with multiple re-shoots and re-writes to lighten the tone, and add humor. I believe that Aquaman is going to be the first movie we see with a completely different tone. I think it will be more entertaining, and less dark, and less totally serious.

Wonder Woman 2 will also be lighter, and if JL2 is ever made, it will also be lighter and more appealing. Now the Joker movie, that movie, if done right, should be absolutely nuts.

Iím really hoping the pics that have been released of Joaquin Phoenix in the makeup is just them trolling everybody. While itís not as bad as Letoís take, it still looks pretty ridiculous.
