Burnt out, I'm just getting started. I love this kind of stuff! I'm not a fan of switching the rules mid-draft, but I'm down for a new draft with new rules next time. (Even if next time is next month... lol) I wonder if we can add Starrcade? It still wouldn't get me La Parka, but it could open more diversity of styles. Just a thought.

If people aren't too burned out after this draft, I'd love to try the sequel that will include both Wrestlemania and Starracade as well as those on the current roster, so guys who didnt compete at Mania like elias and Samoa Joe are fair game this time.

    - managers
    - women
    - tag teams
    - celebrities
    - WCW/NWA greats
    - Announcers

.. no limits to build a sweet roster of 25!!

So... I donít have a horse in this race, but Matt M. is killing it in this draft in my opinion.

    Type's WRESTLEMANIA SUPEREME fantasy draft

    - Anyone who appeared at Wrestlemania is ELIGIBLE
    - 25 rounds and you can build your roster ANY WAY YOU WANT.

You want a bunch of tag teams? DO IT!
You want a roster full of managers and just singles guys? DO IT.
You want a roster filled with celebrities like Vannah White, Cyndi Lauper, and Mike Tyson sprinkled in with some of the bigger wrestling names? DO IT.

    Couple of rules...
    - True tag teams (those that never really had an identity outside of each other) can be drafted as 1 pick. (ie- Legion of Doom, Buswhackers, Usos would fit the bill here as a tag team you can draft as one pick and a team like Tyler Breeze and Fandango would be guys who would go as singles)

    - Same as last the first one, time anyone who appeared in at least 1 Wrestlemania can be judged on entire career merits.

Imagine having a roster of Bobby Heenan, Mike Tyson, Hulk Hogan, Lita, Charlotte Flair. This new format would allow people with specific strategies to GO CRAZY.

If it was up to me, I'd honestly start tomorrow but I know you all are burnt out.

    Question is... .WHOS IN?!

    #TypesWrestlemaniaSupremeDraft
Yeah, nah. You can’t have “true tag teams” being a singular pick and to get two people with one pick. There’s very little wrong with the way this one has played out and doing that makes it unfair at either end of the board. Just leave the way we’ve drafted the way it’s been. If you’re wanting to do a sequel work out how long this has taken and start the sequel so you can get it to end as close as possible to Mania itself. Not sure if you’ll be wanting the same guys to play again when you decide to do a sequel but I think a fantastic stipulation would be that we can’t draft anyone we drafted in the first installment. Be it people we picked for ourselves and people we traded for. So I couldn’t select Jarrett. Both Sam’s couldn’t select Seth and Dean etc

What about a Royal Rumble specific draft?

Wrestlers must have competed in at least one Rumble. At the end of the draft each participant will have 30 guys and have to nominate the following from their chosen roster:
    • First and Second entrant
    • 14th entrant
    • 30th entrant
    • Longest duration
    • Shortest duration
    • Most eliminations
    • Final four
    • Runner Up
    • Winner

Damn, I think we should finish this one first... LOL... I promised to gather the Starrcade roster. So we could finish this one, then hit WM/SC, then RR, then maybe a Monday Night War theme... there is so much you can do. LOL.

I think I wanna green light this. I understand COMPLETELY if those who are burnt out don't want to do it but I would be game to start this mid September. I assume draft 1 will end at the end of August/early Sept.

    - Wrestlemania/Starrcade Fantasy Draft
    - Anyone who appeared on EITHER show since their inceptions is eligible (Tag teams, managers, celebrities, guest ring announcers, ANYONE who appeared in any capacity on the card can be drafted)
    - 25 rounds build your roster and you can build any way you wish (15 women, 4 mangers, 2 tag teams, 1 male wrestler for example-- if that's what you wanted to do)

    Couple notes:
    * There is no way I want to police people by having to check if they drafted someone in the first draft too. It's hard enough to do this as it is. I imagine most people will want to draft someone new anyways. Given there's way more people to choose from this time, rosters can still look a lot differnet.

    * LWO, if you wanna handle the starrcade data entry, I will do the Wrestlemania one with everyone who appeared.

    * I need at least 10 to do this and would go as high as 16 people as long as I didn't have to hunt people down to make their picks or be involved. I totally understand if people are burnt out and don't wanna do this so soon again.. but I definitely do.

    * This one will be a bit more laid back, kind of just for us. doesn't need to go to the LOP main page.

I'm game. I was looking at Starrcades past and it's really interesting. Most have been in a WrestleMania, but you get some really good tag teams like the Rock and Roll and Midnight, and NJPW legends from the 90's. Also Variety Club, the broke version of the Freebirds, some NWA legends of the past. I'm really excited for this!!

I'm up to 1985 (started at 1983) and finally saw Magnum TA. Oh man, I was excited to type that name down! I noticed the NWA took a HUGE step up in talent in 1985. 1983 and 84 was very much a show of territory stars, 1985 felt like their first show of national stars.

I had a lot of fun going through all the Mania's too. It was a trip down memory lane and a reminder why Wrestlemania's 2 and 9 were so horrible.

Oh God... LMAO... 3 sticks out like a gold nugget surrounded by dirty coal when you look at it. I feel like 1 was still very territory, like really, Matt Borne just randomly is there, and you are trying to get David Sammartino over, 2 is a hot mess but an attempt to go national, 3 is the mountain top, and then 4-9 is basically shows carried by Hogan and Savage. And when you think about it, with the exception of 2, Randy Savage steals every single Wrestlemania. He was Mr. WrestleMania before Shawn.

If you like old school NJPW, then the next draft will be a treat. WCW had some RANDOM ass cards for Starrcade. Some cards was all WCW vs. NJPW (95), others were world tournaments which you see some random people like Rey Misterio Sr., and others you just get random stars who had a cup of coffee in WCW perform at Starrcade, like Al Perez, Baron von Raschke. But through it all, you also get some failed gimmicks and people put under a mask in the 80's, along with a bunch of Power Plant guys who didn't pan out in wrestling in the late 90's. WCW was such a mixed bag that you get wrestlers to greatly improve this draft, along with a bunch of guys who will not have a chance to get drafted.

I get what your saying, but I'm kind of the opposite. When I was growing up, there were 2 companies, even in the 80's. JCP/WCW (NWA), and WWF. In a way you can count AWA too, but if WWF is Coke, and WCW is Pepsi, AWA was RC Cola/7Up. (Later ECW took that spot). But at least in what I remember wrestling being, to just focus on WWF when doing things like this is to ignore 50% of the wrestling business in that time period. It's like telling the story of the Cold War, but only from the American/UK prospective and just ignore the Soviet Union prospective. Yes, in the US/UK, we get very little on the USSR, but that was still the other side of the story, and leadership and decisions in the USSR still mattered.

Growing up, I saw the Road Warriors first in WCW, and my favorite tag team was the Midnight Express, Magnum T.A. should have been bigger than the Ultimate Warrior, and the idea of having WCW vs. NJPW was so innovative that how could you ignore it. I think wrestling sourly needs that second option to WWE. Pepsi made Coke change it's formula, only to have people get mad at the new formula and demand the old Coke, Burger King's Whooper forced McDonalds to have fresher quarter pounders, Sega Genesis forced Nintendo to develop the Super Nintendo, and X-Box pushed Play Station to do better with their online gaming. I hope that this movement of All In and now ROH/NJPW can force WWE's hand. I think in the modern wrestling world, it's impossible to have "territories" in the world of the internet. But I think a NJPW rising up to be the #2 promotion in the world, and kind of getting that following in the US like the UK Premiere Football League has, with true fans following something outside of what's forced on us, Major League Soccer (I think we are insulting Americans by continuing to call it soccer). Okay, I just went on a huge long rant on everything bothering me... sorry. I'd erase it all, but I kind of just don't want to erase my feelings on... the world?

Totally agree - without competition, the WWE suffers. We have to have that alternative.

Living in the UK though, once World of Sport finished we had no alternative. WWF was the only promotion televised here for a long time - I've since heard WCW started broadcasting a year or two before it died, but it never had the promotion WWF had so was basically unknown. I don't think the Japanese companies have ever been broadcast here.

TNA has been broadcast pretty much from day one though. For a while it actually got higher ratings here than WWE, although that was probably mostly because it was on a free to air channel.

Talking of TNA, does adding Bound for Glory or Slammiversary to the draft have much merit?

I've thought about that too... Bound for Glory at least. I guess it's up to Type. My vote would be we do a seperate Indy draft between Impact/TNA and ROH, since at least in the US neither has even come close to WWE. I mean when you host PPV's from your our studio wrestling, I personally don't see it as a major show. But I might be completely off base.

So as a way to re-ignite this current draft as we head to the stretch run, how are your Wrestlemania cards looking? Will your card be surprising? Well your main event shock us? Looking over everyone's rosters, I think I like Doc's HHH/Hogan possibility as well as LWO's Savage/Jericho for the title.

Definitely gonna center mine around Goldberg vs. Flair as the end of a long title chase. Probably Cesaro vs. Andre as one of the top undercard bouts, because Cesaro is gonna throw Andre around with his freaky strength and it's gonna be amazing.

I will not reveal the details of how we get there til we post our cards buuut.. I think I'm going to green light a tag team championship match that includes the newly formed team of "Delightfully wonderful," Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff and Matt Hardy.

To be honest, I am split on which is the title match and which is the special attraction match. Savage/Jericho might be the special attraction, and Eddie/Cody might be a title match. Or Savage/Jericho is the title match, and Eddie might get Jake Roberts and Cody might get someone else for a mid-card title... I'm still working out what I want to do. I know for sure Savage/Jericho are headlining, but is it in a Hogan/Rock type way, or a Austin/Rock type way?

Mine has to be the battle of the entrances.

Pre-Lesnar Taker vs the debut of The Demon Balor.

A few of the other matches are shaping up nicely on my roster too.

I'm really excited to see what storylines you guys come up with and see all your cards. That should be a blast and a good way to end this draft with a bang!

I think I might have the "people's choice" award (between the 13 of us competing) be the two votes of a.) best roster and b.) best mania card.

2003 or 2012 Lesnar against 1991 or 2000 Steiner. Any combinations of those would yield a different, yet incredible match.

I could also really see myself watching Type's though to be honest it would depend on what you did with Matt Hardy, Val Venis, and Baron Corbin. Make it Hardy Version 1 and not too pornstar-ish and I'd be all over it!

I'm not sure what you do with Corbin, but y'know, I can probably live with it.

    Count me in.

I'd actually been wondering about picking Corbin myself (obviously too late now). Trouble is his peak wasn't long and this Constable crap has ruined him. But he definitely needed that haircut.

I am not particularly a fan of Corbin but I have a plan A and a plan B for a guy I want to draft that I'd pair him with on my Mania card. One is a perfect fit and the back up plan is also a good fit.

Not sure when Corbin's "peak" was... Just kidding, he never did anything for me but I can see why he might appeal to someone with different tastes.

End of NXT, start of WWE run. He looked like he was being set up for a pretty good push.
