    Survivor Series - LIVE!

So, Survivor Series is coming up. Card to date:

    • Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs WWE Champion AJ Styles
    • Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey vs Smackdown Women's Champion Becky Lynch
    • Raw Tag Team Champions AoP vs Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Bar
    • Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins vs US Champion Shinsuke Nakamura
    • Men of Raw (Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Braun Strowman, 2 TBA) vs. Men of Smackdown (The Miz, Daniel Bryan, Shane McMahon, Rey Mysterio, and Samoa Joe)
    • Women of Raw (All TBA) vs. Women of SmackDown (Carmella, Naomi, Sonya Deville, Asuka, 1 TBA)
    • Tag Teams of Raw (All TBA) vs Tag Teams of Smackdown (The Usos, The New Day, 3 TBA)

Who's excited? Lesnar vs Styles overperformed last year, and while it's an indictment of how little WWE have done that's meant anything in the last 12 months that they're running Raw vs Smackdown with both guys still as champions it hopefully will again. Rollins vs Nakamura looks interesting on paper, and if the hype was still there around Nakamura I think people would be psyched for it.

My main interest is in Ronda vs Becky, because I really want WWE to avoid that being a mauling in the former's favour.

Nothing else really grabs me, and even the big team matches feel a bit secondary to the title vs title matches this years.

I think that the top 2 matches should be where Styles and Lynch both win.

Given that AJ lost last year, and due to circumstances, we are getting a rematch and Styles should win. Have it be via a count out, or a run in, or a screwy Dusty finish, but Styles deserves a win, and a loss will not do anything to Lesnar. Also this shows that the WWE champion is at least equal, if not better than the Universal champion. I still find it weird that the premiere title in the company is on the secondary show, so that champion should get the win, especially that he lost last year.

Roused vs Lynch should also go to Lynch. Rousey is at a Lesnar type of status right now, where a loss to the other Women’s champion would not hurt Rousey, but it would do everything for Lynch. You do not need to have Lynch submit Rousey, but a good 15-20 minute match where Lynch sneaks out a roll up victory is perfect. Rousey would not lose any steam, nor any shine, but the win for Lynch elevates her even higher than she currently is.

I actually think the exact opposite will happen, Powder.

I think there is no way WWE has Lesnar lose. He has everything to lose here, as he just won the title back. AJ has nothing to lose because he already lost, and he has had a massive title run to now (one of the best ever imo). They need Lesnar to look strong, or worst case scenario get screwed over. unless Strowman pummels him before the match, or there is an interference call, Lesnar definitely wins here. It should still be a great match though, as AJ Styles could make anyone look like a million bucks.

And I think there is no way WWE has Rousey lose here. She runs undefeated at the very least, up to WM. I'm guessing interference decides it if they are feeling generous to Becky, otherwise Roussey is gonna win. Im worried WWE just lets Rhonda destroy her. Maybe Becky will just walk away.

Nakamura vs Seth could be great. Neither needs the win necessarily. It seems obvious Seth will win though to rebuild some momentum.

Then have Lesnar lose via a DQ finish. I agree AJ has had an amazing run as WWE champion, but he could use the feather in his cap with a victory over Lesnar, even if it is a DQ.

If the WWE is keeping Rousey undefeated until at least WM, then they still have to protect Becky. Have Becky make Rousey look like a million bucks, while making herself look just as good. Like the LWS match with Charlotte, both women looked amazing after that match. But for damn sake DO NOT HAVE BECKY LOSE VIA SUBMISSION OR CLEAN PINFALL. With all the work that Becky has put in with her in ring work and her character, and support from the audience, they cannot just have it be a squash. Becky needs to look legit.

Becky v Rhonda feels like the only thing that has actual stakes, doesn't it? Like it would impact the characters going forward. I agree that Becky getting a roll up win is the way to go. The idea of Rousey being tough as hell but still with a few things to learn about Pro Wrestling. Or getting too focused on a submission that she gets caught.

The rest just reeks of filler shite. I'm sure there will be some good matches but ultimately none of it matters, so it's just par for the course really. When I watch WWE now nothing feels like it has any stakes, theres no weight to anything.

On less of a debby downer note; Hopefully AoP vs The Bar is as hard hitting as it should be. They should all just beat the piss out of each other.

At least one of those results is wrong because you have Raw winning all of the singles head to head bouts.

Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey you are absolutely right on. Ronda's undefeated streak won't end until at least Mania so unfortunately, Becky Lynch has to take the L here. Lesner will beat styles as aside from interference, there's no way they will have Styles go over. Nakamara beating Rollins is the more likely scenario, especially since Dean can just cost Seth Rollins the match to further their feud.

Does that matter? There are seven Raw vs Smackdown bouts on the card, so Raw could sweep the singles bouts but Smackdown win the tag champions, tag SS, and women's SS matches to leave the big men's match as the decider. Or one of the singles, whichever order they go in. WWE loves these things ending with a one point win on one side - last year ended 4-3 to Raw.

Didn't realize that Survivor series was this weekend. So because they spent so much time building up for the PPV event that shouldn't have happened in the first place, we didn't get much build up for this. Kinda lame.

It's being reported that Becky vs. Ronda is OFF Survivor Series due to the injuries Becky received on Raw. It DOES stoke the fire a bit more for the feud; one which I can't see either woman losing.

A real shame if true, and suggests that what looked fairly superficial last night might be serious behind it. Hopefully it's just a precaution at this stage and they can still go with the match, on a personal level I was really, really looking forward to it.

Supposedly she already debunked this in her instagram.

Na, there is nothing on her Instagram.

Would really suck to have her removed. I'd have her come out in a Texas Chainsaw Massacre mask, would only make her even more badass at this point.

I just notices, that Bryan was originally in the 5 on 5 match, now that he is facing Lesnar, Styles is NOT replacing him, and is NOT on the card. Hmmm....

    Injury?

Wouldn't be too surprising, given what his schedule has been for the last year and the sudden title change.

What you think should happen at Survivor Series and why?

    Here are my pitches.

    Buddy Murphy v Mustafa Ali

Disclaimer I watch very little of 205 Live but it seems too early to take the belt off Murphy for me, so he retains here.

Raw Tag Teams v Smackdown Tag Teams

I think the Smackdown tag teams should win, with The Usos and Sanity being the survivors, lastly eliminating Gable & Roode. This will lead to The Usos facing Sanity for the right to be no.1 contenders to the Smackdown tag titles and The Usos winning and going onto face The Bar. Smackdown 1-0

    Seth Rollins v Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura wins due to Rollins overlooking him and focusing on Ambrose, Ambrose doesn't need to directly cost him. After the match Ambrose can beat down Rollins. Smackdown 2-0

    Raw Womens v Smackdown Womens

Just come down to Nia v Askua, Nia seems to have it won, then Becky Lynch' music hits for the distraction, Askua takes advantage and beats Nia. Nia will now use her title shot to go after the Smackdown women's title, move brands and get fed to Lynch before WM season kicks in. Smackdown 3-0

    AOP v The Bar

Too early for AOP to lose, have Drake and Big Show be thrown out early. AOP pick up the clean win. Smackdown 3-1

    Raw Mens v Smackdown Mens

Corbin costs Strowman because he doesn't want to face him. Bliss replaces him as GM. McIntyre is left alone against nostalgia acts Shane, Hardy and Mysterio and beats all 3 of them to be the sole survivor. Smackdown 3-2

    Lesnar v Bryan

Would have Bryan try and wrestle this match as a complete coward and avoid any dangerous German suplexes after a game of cat and mouse, Lesnar eventually catches him for the win. Even 3-3

    Rousey v Charlotte

Rousey appears to have the match won during a ref bump, but Sasha and Bayley appear, backstabber into a Bayley to Belly. Charlotte hits the natural selection for the win. Smackdown win 4-3

    Aftermatch
    - Stephanie sacks Corbin for Raw's failure and replaces him with Bliss. Corbin goes onto get stuffed by Braun at TLC.
    - Sasha and Bayley explain their actions as they stuck it to Raw after Raw stuck it to them the week before. They are not heels because they also have beef with Bliss & Stephanie as well as Rousey. Which will lead to the 4 horsewomen v 4 horsewomen match at the Feb PPV
    - Nia uses her title shot for the SD womens title and moves to Smackdown to face Becky
    - Feuds continue between Bryan and AJ, Seth and Dean.
    - McIntyre ditches Ziggler the next night and runs as a singles guy and built as the next contender for Lesnar.

That time of the month where we rename the thread and make this our live thread!

Discussion of Survivor Series during the show here...

I’m happy the cruisers are on the main show. They aren’t disappointing. I wish Mustafa won though.

Lars Sullivan promo on Survivor Series. He’s coming soon but they didn’t mention a show. I suggest a rookie draft.

Are we not going to talk about Drake Maverick pissing himself?

    REALLY?

I haven't seen someone piss themselves on WWE television in about 18 years. I think it's important to talk about. I paid $9.99 for some piss porn.

    Hahhahahahaa Oh my God.

Well, Samoa Joe is just being wasted.
