    The Concert/Live Show Thread

A place for you live music lovers to share what you're going to see, and stories of the stuff you've seen.

Recently saw the Manic Street Preachers, supported by The Coral - in Manchester. How about you guys?

Also read somewhere that Def Leppard are coming to my town. I'm not like they're biggest fan, but I like a bunch of songs, they are supposed to be playing Hysteria in full, and I can walk home from the arena in about twenty minutes... seems almost rude not to.

Saw The Dropkick Murphys and Agnostic Front back in March. DKM were just as amazing as I’ve always imagined. AF would’ve been great, but the vocalist was mic issues the entire set. Got Warped Tour coming up in July. (The final year it’s a national tour... this makes me sad.) And then Rise Against/Anti-Flag/AFI at the beginning of September. Should be a nice finish to my own little Summer of Punk.

Concert season is my favorite. I kicked it off Sunday night with Ghost. I'll be going to the Slayer Farewell tour the day after my birthday. In July I got Godsmack/Shinedown and possibly Hatebreed. I've had a couple people ask me about going to Rob Zombie/Manson, and I had to turn down Judas Priest because of work.

Just found out yesterday that Frank Turner is coming to Nashville in October. This makes me sooooooo happy, and I’ll be buying tickets next week before it sells out.

No one goes out to see shows huh? I knew I was prematurely old but I thought you guys had more of a life than me!

I do, but with wife and kids, going to soccer practice almost everyday after work, and between 2-4 games per weekend, and having a half season package for the NY Islanders, concerts are low on the list.

But I saw Shinedown and Godsmack over the summer. Great show.

Saw the Dropkick Murphy’s back in March. Warped Tour in July with way too many bands to mention. Rise Against/AFI/Anti Flag last month. (Tremendous night) Missed Frank Turner a few weeks back because of a work event. UnderOath is playing next month and hopefully I can make that show. Already got tix for Atmosphere in December. Also, I think Social Distortion is playing some time soon, but I’ll probably skip that.

I saw Def Leppard and Journey in July. Leppard was great, Journey was pretty good. Going to see Eric Church for the second time in under two years in February. He puts on an awesome show.

Yeah, this is more like it guys!

I imagine Leppard do put on a great show. I'd totally go and see them if they played here.

I'd actually forgot when I posted the above that Def Leppard are coming here. And they've got Cheap Trick as a support act, who I imagine still put on a good show.

have tickets for Weezer and the Pixies in March. I've seen the Pixies before and they put on a good live show. I'm intrigued to see what kind of performance Weezer puts on - I like their older stuff and their cover of Africa is spot on (which for my money is NOT the point of a cover, but alas)

^ You been to those shows yet?

I guess we're all getting to old to be hitting up concerts the way we used to, judging by how quiet it is in here!
